🍐 Good morning and welcome to this sunny Tuesday Daily Authority! On Sunday I found a pear that goes really well with blue cheese. Did you know who? (Probably everyone except me, for fairness).

Ready for ROG Phone 6?

Rendering of Asus ROG Phone 6 leaked 3

Looking at ROG Phone 6, it looks like the cover is broken. It’s similar to previous ROG Phones in terms of aesthetics, but the cooling accessories are bigger than ever.

Good looking (but big)

The latest ROG Phone, which many agree on, is the best gaming phone on the planet, but it looks pretty good.

  • I sneak a peek at the courtesy of Evan Brass And 91 mobile phones.
  • This time around, the design hasn’t changed much, so fans of ROG Phone design will feel like they’re at home.
  • The rear display panel has moved, but it feels good.
  • In the leaked rendering, the phone only appears in white, but if you’re happy with previous versions, you may also see black variations.

What you know so far

Here’s what we expect from ROG Phone 6 specs:

  • You should see the same 6.78 inch AMOLED display as ROG Phone 5, but this time it has a refresh rate of 165Hz (ROG Phone 5 was 144Hz).
  • Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, which promises a 10% clock speed improvement in addition to a 15-30% power efficiency improvement over Qualcomm’s current flagship chip.
  • The tip is still hot — we’ll talk more about that in a minute.
  • With up to 18GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, as well as a powerful 6,000mAh battery and 65W wired charging, there aren’t any major changes from ROG 5 Ultimate here.
  • There is also a headphone jack.

Calm down

Especially with the hot running Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, Asus needed to enhance the game to keep ROG Phone 6 cool.

  • ROG Phone 5 got a little warmer during long hours of play and became noticeable after 15-20 minutes.
  • The previous generation cooler accessories were a bit bulky to use on the go, but this time they’re absolutely huge, so they’re not the most portable.

It’s not a long time to wait for ROG Phone 6 to go on sale, so you’ll know more quickly — next week, July 5th, 8am EST.

round up

🧟 HTC’s Metaverse phone undoubtedly shows that the company is a zombie (Android Authority).

🎮 The July PS Plus game was leaked prior to Sony’s official announcement (but take this with just a little salt): Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about time, Dark Pictures Anthology: Medan’s A man, and Arcadedon is coming (Eurogamer).

Mobile phone share 2
  • In July 2000, Samsung still had only 4.6% of the market share.
  • By the summer of 2007 (June 29), when Apple launched its first iPhone, it still had only a 0.3% share of the market. It rose to 6.8% just a year later and more than doubled to 13.9% by June 2009.
  • By December 2021, Apple had a market share of 27.3%, Samsung with a 27.8% share of the market pie, and all other manufacturers lagging behind.
  • The days when Motorola and Nokia outnumbered leaderboards are over.
  • It’s not clear if these numbers are global or unique to the United States.

have a great day!
