Ken Jennings, 48, host of Jeopardy! tonight – it’s buttoned up to wrap up the final week of this exciting season.

Offstage of the show also officially announced its final host decision.

He and Mayim, 46, have “signed agreements” to replace the big one Alex Trebekshared the beloved quiz show.

The pair, who have been guests since October 2021 and are out this season, will continue to do so as regular hosts.

Amid the hot topic of host news, many viewers are simply taken aback by Ken.

One commented that his improv skills — admittedly he’s not a professional actor, but a former software engineer — are categorically impressive.

Tonight he teased with 2-Day Champion Ed Coulson and new players Colleen Birney and Brianne Barker “strangely good,” many said.

Colleen shared during the Q&A segment that her dog is Instagram famous, and Ed is writing a mystery novel set on a boat.

New player Brianne eventually won the match with $11.7K.

But many said that Ken scored points himself as he rode through the earlier chatty segment.

“IMRPOV KING!”

“Ken’s improv talent is so good. Why isn’t this guy the full-time presenter?!?” one Twitter user wrote.

“She has no sense of performance. Ken is a natural, quick on his feet, great sense of humour,” wrote another comparing the two hosts.

“He’s light years better than Mayim. It doesn’t even come close. He does introductions better. Interviews. Improvisations. He definitely responds faster when someone answers something correctly,” wrote a third.

Later in the game, Ken commented that he is a “huge TikToker” and then yelled back at the player with the Insta-famous dog and said, “Colleen, I’m sure your dog is too.”

Earlier in July, one player said he was a fan of Ken when the alum was on the showand he also showed some host humility.

During the story segment, the contestant said he “caught every episode” of his 2004 74-game run.

“I have vivid memories of missing the bus because me and my mom were trying to record something on VHS,” they said.

Ken turned bright red and smiled as he looked down in surprise.

“So you’re also the youngest person to know how to set up a VCR,” the host joked. “That’s very exciting, well thanks for watching, I appreciate that.”

MAYIM YOUR WAY!

Fans also feel that the meet-and-greet portion of the game show isn’t Mayim’s strong point, despite her being a comedic actress.

During a match in April, she dug into a player with less than impressive precision.

Participant Yian, an anesthesiologist from Menlo Park, California, shared a story about how mastering a claw arcade machine led him to become a doctor.

“That’s pretty great, but you didn’t become a surgeon, just an anesthesiologist,” Mayim said strangely.

Then, seemingly in an effort to blend the contestant’s story with his work, she joked, “So you don’t fully dig into things.”

“No,” Yian replied with a respectful laugh as a blazer-clad Mayim ended their conversation with a scornful claw.

“Wait, was Mayim just putting anesthetists to sleep?” one Twitter user wondered.

“What a nasty comment about his work,” commented another.

“Mayim Bialik Put Anesthesiologists On Jeopardy!” named a third.

NEXT SEASON REVEALED

Ken will return when Season 39 begins in September, its first four months at the helm, and Mayim will host “as much as she can” from January, given her Fox sitcom Call Me Kat.

According to EP Mike Davies’ announcement, via a long statement to the show’s official website – they’ll be splitting specials too.

Next year, Ken will host “the inaugural Second Chance competition and the highly anticipated Tournament of Champions with” AmyMatt Amodio, Matteo, Ryan Longand much, much more,” said Mike Davies.

“Mayim will host Celebrity Jeopardy! on ABC in primetime” and “a few new tournaments as well as the Jeopardy! National College Championshiphe claimed.

Many fans have slammed the show as “weak-willed” because he can’t choose one, while others are just happy that the smoke has cleared in the guest fight.

Following the tragic death of former presenter Alex Trebek, who passed away on November 8, 2020, of stage four pancreatic cancer, Ken and Mayim took over as presenters of the popular game show.

They stepped up to the joint role after a short period of Mike Richards and a fleet of guest hosts who tried.
