Oak trees spoilers follow for Friday's episode (August 16) which now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will be broadcast on E4 on Monday 19 August at 7:00 PM.
Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) lashed out at son JJ (Ryan Mulvey) in emotional scenes after he discovers that he has abused his twin sister Frankie (Isabelle Smit).
After I subjected to horrific abuse by JJ's hands, Frankie bravely entrusted in father Darren. She immediately regretted saying anything, afraid Darren wouldn't believe her, but to her horror, he did it a hundred percent.
However, despite her decision to open up, Frankie was very clear that she did not want to go any further with this – and that nobody could have known what she had revealed.
Darren struggled with this and when the opportunity arose, he decided to confront JJ. JJ had no idea that his father knew about the horrible abuse he had inflicted on his sister.
JJ was still on cloud nine after signing so he asked his dad for a ride to a party. But after getting in the car, Darren made it clear that he knew what JJ had been up to.
JJ claimed that Frankie was lying and trying to shift the blame and discredit his sister, reminding Darren that she had previously accused Jack (Jimmy McKenna) of the same thing.
Darren, however, knew what distraction looked like and, shocked by the lengths JJ went to to hide the truth, he screamed at him through tears and asked him what kind of person would sexually abuse his own sister.
JJ became aggressive and showed his true colors, and that's when Darren saw who his son really is.
Darren knew this had to be revealed and called Suzanne Ashworth (Suzanne Hall) to Basswood Road. He told her that JJ had abused Frankie.
Devastatingly, Suzanne didn't believe Frankie, calling her own daughter's claims “disgusting.” Suzanne helped JJ pack while Darren tried to talk her out of it. But her mind was made up when she and JJ left.
