Declan Donnelly has become a father for the second time when he welcomes a son with his wife Ali Astall.
The host, best known for co-hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! of Ant McPartlinmade the happy announcement on Sunday.
Dec and Ali were married in 2015 by the presenter’s brother, Father Dermott Donnelly, who… tragically passed away earlier this month.
They already share daughter Isla Elizabeth Ann, who is three years old.
Now the mother, father and daughter have become a family of four with the arrival of baby Jack.
On Twitter, Declan shared a beautiful photo of the newborn holding his finger.
He wrote: ‘Yesterday shortly before 10am, 23.7.2022, Ali and I welcomed the arrival of our son, Jack Anthony Alphonsus, a very welcome beam of light.
“He’s amazing and Isla is beyond excited to be a big sister!”
Fans poured out their congratulations to the happy couple, with one fan sending the sweet message: ‘This is beautiful… congratulations, I bet Isla is going to be a fantastic big sister.’
Another added: ‘Congratulations Dec and Ali… Can’t wait to see all the beautiful photos and love the name.’
Many saw the apparent nod to Dec’s co-star Ant in baby Jack’s middle name, with one fan admitting she was “excited” by it.
“Heaven knows how the (now) Big Ant feels,” she added.
The family kept Ali’s pregnancy news quiet, announcing that early fans had heard of the new arrival.
It has been a difficult time for the Donnellys following the sudden death of Father Dermott in early July.
The Catholic priest died at the age of 55 after suffer from a serious illness.
Donnelly, along with Father Dermott’s other relatives, were with him when he died ‘peacefully’ in hospital after having a collapse at home.
Ant later paid tribute to Father Dermott, who wrote that Dec’s brother was “the kindest, wisest man I knew.”
Dec himself was ‘stunned’ to lose his brother, as he wrote: ‘I am heartbroken to tell you that my dear brother Fr Dermott, @TweeterPriest, has sadly passed away this afternoon.
“We are all beyond broken. Thank you for your messages of sympathy and support, they are appreciated.”
