A FEMALE cop fights for her life after being shot in the face in a disturbing attack.
Missouri City Police Officer Crystal Sepulveda was reportedly shot in the face by a carjacking suspect armed with multiple automatic rifles.
Agent Sepulveda was shot in the face early Saturday morning by an armed carjacking suspect, according to a Harris County peace officer.
In a Facebook post following the shooting, Harris County Constable Mark Herman said the 3-year veteran of the Missouri City Police Department was in stable condition.
Herman said Sepulveda is “expected to make a full recovery”.
“Prayers for recovery for Agent Crystal Sepulveda,” Herman said in the⦠Facebook post.
“Gratitude for her service in maintaining safe communities.”
In a news conference on Saturday, Missouri City Police Chief Troy Finner said the incident wasn’t the only thing that shot the suspect on Saturday.
According to local news channel News 3LVthe man suspected of shooting Sepulveda was subsequently involved in a shootout with law enforcement officers from the Harris Police Department and other agencies.
According to the news broadcast, the suspect was shot during the second altercation.
The man was taken to a local hospital but did not survive.
Sepulveda was shot in the early morning hours on Saturday.
A motorist involved in a theft on Friday was spotted at 2 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Police Chief Finner said authorities were following the car when a man got out of the vehicle and fired at them, punching Sepulveda in the face.
The police chief said the male suspect fled after shooting Sepulveda and then fired at the other officers, who fired back and killed him.
