Mrs. Trump was well known in New York social circles for decades after she married Mr. Trump, then a brash businessman in the late 1970s. She left the former Czechoslovakia, where she was born, and then rose to fame as a New York socialite and an executive in the Trump Organization.
The former model and Mr. Trump had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. The couple’s divorce in the early 1990s turned into a messy drama, described in the New York tabloids. It even led to a cameo in the 1996 movie “The First Wives Club,” in which she delivered the singer, “Don’t be mad; have everything.”

Police in New York City received a call around 12:40 a.m. Thursday from an address on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Officers found her unconscious and unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police statement.
