The wind and rain weren’t enough to stop a filmed man from running across the roof of a downtown Manhattan building.
An unidentified man, dressed in a suit and clad in shoes, can be seen atop the 23-story West Street building, opposite the National September 11 Memorial.
A video shows the man walking around a corner awning and taking photos. He then stops to take a phone call as he walks back and forth.
As soon as he finishes his phone call, the man starts running over the canopies of the roof until he comes to a window of an apartment, where he then enters the building.
Captured by Erik Ljung from an upper floor of the adjacent 200 Liberty Street building, the man is seen blurred through the rain as his clothes flutter in the wind.
The Gothic-style building, built in 1907 and renovated in 2003, is just over 100 meters high.

The man walks around the corner of the building and takes pictures
He returns to the corner while making a phone call
Then, after hanging up, the man starts running into one of the canopies of the building
He starts running, up and over the curved edge
He stops at the top before running down to jump to the next canopy
He makes a quick jump before reaching the second canopy
He continues this sequence of moves until he approaches an apartment
Then he is seen to open the window, enter the building and close the window behind him
“I get a lot of questions,” the caption reads. “I have no idea what that guy was doing.”
In two separate Reddit posts, which circulated the video, Ljung provided context before taking the video.
“(I) have no idea what was going on here,” he wrote. “This morning security at the building where I work said it was being shared on their Slack channel, but they also have no idea what was going on.”
