But even before he was hit by the feverish tensions at the court, Prince George struggled with the soaring temperatures.

A video shows the smartly dressed youngster making his way to the final with his mother Kate Middleton before greeting tennis officials.

But donning a chic blue suit, shirt and tie in the burning sunshine had taken its toll on the eight-year-old.

Despite grinning politely and baring it to give a series of formal handshakes, George then complained that he was “too hot” in his outfit.

But as the trio moved further into the building, George revealed he was “too hot” in his stylish clog when the mercury hit 28C.

As William strokes George’s hair, the eight-year-old quietly says to his father: “[It’s] too hot.”

William expressed his concern and then replied, “Oh, you’re hot, aren’t you? It’s very hot today […] It’ll be fine.”

The Duchess of Cambridge can then hear the Prince tell him not to “sit in the bright sun” before reassuring him that they are “often in the shade”.

Royal family fans were quick to notice the discreet exchange between George and Wills and expressed concern about the youngster.

One wrote: “Prince George looks very smart, but couldn’t he have dressed more casually because it’s so hot?”

Another said: “I feel a little sorry for Prince George having to make it through the Wimbledon men’s singles final.

“It can go on for hours and in this heat too!!!”

And a third said: “A tie! A jacket! In the summer sun. I hope he’s having fun.

“But I wonder… some traditions hold up better if they change to keep up with the times and the weather.”

Despite Britons applauding the future king for adhering to the All England Club’s formal dress code, Royal Editor Robert Jobson said no one would have minded George dressing more casually to be cooler.

But the eight-year-old soon wiped away any thought of the blazing sun after being mesmerized by the men’s finale.
