EMONN Holmes hinted at the breakup of his and Ruth Langsford's marriage six months ago.
The Belfast-born broadcaster discussed the mix of work and marriage during a speaking engagement at The Savoy Hotel last year
He addressed the audience at the Global Man event, where he was a guest speaker: Eamonn gave some telling insights into his own relationship with Ruth and alluded to problems arising from working together and living together.
In his speech said Eamonn said: “This is Ruth's problem: she cannot separate her professional life from her private life. Ruth is the boss of both.
“She's amazing, you know, I love her, I live with her. She's great, but…'
Eamonn, 64 – who would that be? furious that Ruth had orchestrated the split – further warned that while it is one thing to find love in the workplace, it is better not to marry them.
He added: “Find your partner at work! Have a romance. Do all the dirty things you do, but stay away.
His comments come as insiders close to the couple said things would get “tough” following their divorce.
A friend of the couple said this Email online: “This could all get very, very tricky. You're dealing with Eamonn, who didn't really want to end things, and Ruth, who did. At the heart of it is a disagreement.
“How they manage to split their millions remains to be seen, but when it comes to money, things are never easy. They've been together for a long time, but Eamonn undeniably became more famous when they got together.”
Eamonn and Ruth tied the knot in 2010, but have been together since 1996.
The pair have worked together on screen several times.
Some examples include Channel 4's big hit Celebrity Glasses case, ITV teatime quiz Gift wrapped and Channel 5 series How the other half lives.
Most notable, however, was that the duo co-presented This morning on Fridays from 2006 to 2021.
They also appeared together in an episode of the now canceled episode ITV2 Revival of the supermarket auction in 2019.
In recent years, the couple has also fallen apart professionally.
