A primary school in East Auckland was closed on Wednesday morning due to “an incident in the neighbourhood”.
A message on the Tāmaki Primary School website said: “Tāmaki Primary School has been legitimately shut down due to an incident near our school. We will continue to post updates to our website as often as possible.
“Please do not come to the school or call the school as this could disrupt the management of this incident and potentially endanger the safety of yourself, staff and students.”
Police have been contacted for comment.
