EastEnders fans 'guess' who will return next – and it's a big one | Soaps

In preparation for two big EastEnders returns, fans think they know which legendary character will follow them to Albert Square… the iconic Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson).

Last month it was announced that Michael French ready to reprise his role as Carol's ex-husband David Wicks.

The Queen's Son Pat Butcher (Pam St Clements) And Piet Beale (Peter Dean), he was involved in some of the BBC soap's biggest storylines.

Of his affair with his half-brother Ian Beale'S (Adam Woodyatt) woman Cindy (Michelle Collins) to falling in love with Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer)… before finding out she was his daughter, his first stint was really in the mid-90s rather eventful.

After a long absence, he returned to Walford in 2013, and it looked like he was finally going to have a 'happily ever after' moment with Carol – but that was not the intention.

When he failed to show up at their wedding after suffering a heart attack, she believed he had abandoned her. Despite reconciliation, David made a bold move and fled to America, leaving Carol devastated.

His return later this year will coincide with Bianca makes a spectacular comeback after her previous departure in June. She left the square after a huge row with her adopted daughter Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and sister Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), which is about to leave her in a difficult position.

In the coming scenes we see Sonia and her fiancé Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) arrested for the murder of his comatose wife Debbiewhich seems like a very appropriate moment for her 'family' to gather around her.

As viewers know, Reiss was the one who suffocated her with a pillow to avoid paying even more for her private care.

Fans on social media are convinced that Carol, who was last seen in 2015, will be the next to be announced.

'Carol Jackson returning to EastEnders is no longer a wish but a necessity. Lindsey Coulson is one of the best actresses the show has ever had and even the slightest possibility of her being reunited with Bianca and David on screen drives me crazy. Pay her all the money,' said one devoted fan.

Another added: 'David Wicks and Bianca Jackson are returning, I just hope Carol Jackson's return hasn't been announced yet.'

Carol had a number of major storylines before her departure in 2015, including the discovery of Bianca's affair with her boyfriend Dan Sullivan (Craig Fairbrass), the death of her youngest son Billie (Devon Anderson), alcoholism and a breast cancer diagnosis.

After turning to drink following the arrest of her brother Max Branning (Jake Wood) for the murder of Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater), her son Robbie (Dean Gaffney) convinced her to start over.

EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw has announced more will be returning ahead of the show's 40th anniversary next year. Could Carol be one of them?
