OOSTENDERS’ Sam Mitchell revealed that she was behind her own shooting – and plans to destroy her brother Phil’s empire – during tonight’s episode.
The week’s episodes — now available to watch on iPlayer — saw dramatic shooting in the family war against mobster Jonah.
But in a shocking twist tonight, it was revealed that Jonah was not behind the shooting.
Instead, Sam herself turned out to be the mastermind behind the plot against her brother Phil’s companies.
After an epic showdown for Peggy’s launch night, criminals broke into the building and threatened Kat Slater and Sharon Watts.
The women took on the men after assuming they were sent by Jonah to intimidate them.
But when Kat refused to back off and row with the hired thugs, one of them pulled out a gun and decided to shoot her.
There was a near miss with the gunshot – terrifying Shirley hiding in the office after vandalizing the club.
While Shirley was hiding, Sam went to the club and confronted the men.
But after the men demanded access to the safe – and came into contact with Shirley’s baseball bat, things got out of hand.
The men panicked and aimed their guns at the women.
At the last minute, Sam threw himself into the bullet’s path, preventing Kat from being shot – endangering her own life.
She was rushed to hospital and her life was saved.
But in a later episode, Sam revealed she was behind it.
She met the criminals and handed over the payment for their services.
“You weren’t supposed to shoot me,” she said, handing the money.
But when the men asked if they were ready, Sam said to them, “Oh no, I’m just getting started.”
However, there was another twist at the end of the week’s episode when Shirley found out what Sam had been up to.
After confronting Sam, Shirley blackmailed her into scamming her.
But soap fans aren’t convinced the plan will work.
On Twitter, someone wrote: “Sam’s plans always explode in her face.”
A second said: “If the truth comes out, Sam is going to lose everything, she didn’t come up with her plan through #EastEnders.”
Another added: “I hope Shirley’s recording sam‘s confession #EastEnders.”
