EastEnders spoilers: Ben Mitchell faces death as he collapses in first photos | soaps

Ben Mitchell‘s (Max Bowden) life is at stake in EastEndersafter collapsing in devastating scenes amid his drug use.

As the viewers know, the popular character has had a hard time after his rape ordeal and lashed out at everyone around him.

Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) is determined to help her son through his trauma, but because Ben refuses to open up, she has left some distance between them, hoping this would convince him to seek help.

Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect, when Ben started taking drugs and amid his drug-fuelled rage, he confessed to having played a part in the death of Jags Panesar (Amar Adatia).

Kheerat (Jaz Singh Deol) was shocked by his best friend’s confession, so he lashed out and tried to kill him.

Suki (Balvinder Sopal), however, eventually saved Ben’s life, when she revealed that it was she who put her son in jail in the first place.

Ben then returned home and Kathy and Phil (Steve McFadden) were shocked to find out what had happened to Jags. Knowing that their son needed help, Kathy finally decided told Phil Ben was raped.

However, in the coming scenes, Ben will tell Phil that Kathy got the wrong end of the stick.

In the week that follows, things take another disturbing turn as Ben spirals out of control after a disturbing exchange with Lexi, while going to a party with Jame – and his drug use continues.

Back in Walford, he leaves a voicemail for Kathy, explaining why he’s late for dinner with Lexi.

But horror soon sets in when Ben, feeling worse from wear and tear, collapses.

Kathy, meanwhile, wonders where her son has gone. Will Ben be found in time? Will he be okay?

EastEnders will air these scenes on BBC Two on Monday 1 August at 7.30pm, and they will be available on BBC iPlayer that same morning from 6am.
