It’s a family that has always fallen quite apart, and now the Panesar clan in EastEnders will be dismembered as the truths about Jags’ death are revealed.
Viewers know that Suki (Bal Finder Sopal) plotted the imprisonment of her son Jags while he was accused of a robbery committed by Vinny (Shiv Jalota).
His crime? A relationship with Habiba Ahmed; one that Suki greatly disapproved of.
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) was later persuaded to protect Jags in prison because his life was threatened, but when he discovered something was going on between Kheerat (Jaz Deol) and Sharon (Letitia Dean), he backed down.
Without any means of defense, Jags was killed and the Panesars continued to falter. But the nightmare is about to come back to haunt them when Ben finally finds out what he’s done.
Kheerat and Ben have formed a friendship despite their pretty serious past feud. And Kheerat is one of the few people who has felt Ben in his corner.
When Kheerat gives sage advice to a struggling Ben after finding him in a state, Ben’s guilt over the secret he’s hiding from him turns bad.
Already consumed with self-loathing and high on drugs, Ben confesses to the Panesar family that he revoked the protection Jags had – he is responsible for his death.
If the bomb detonates a hole in the family, what are the consequences when the sadness comes back to the fore and the blood boils?
How will Kheerat take revenge on the man he thought was his friend?
