Phil, meanwhile, returned to his cell, where he prepared for his impending doom, while Erskine and his friends attacked him.
The Thursday (July 7) edition of the BBC One soap got underway moments later, when a body was removed from cell B14, the cell in which Phil served his time.
Sharon, desperate for answers, reached for the prison, which… confirmed that there had been a fatalityleaving her inconsolable.

After seeing Sharon with a handful of letters, Sam decided to take a closer look, and she was heartbroken to find out Phil was dead.
The bigger shock came moments later, though, when she realized Phil hadn’t written one for her.

The three women took shelter from the prying eyes of the office as they pondered how best to break the news of Phil’s death to everyone, but they didn’t know what was about to happen.
While Billy (Perry Fenwick) had informed them of a commotion, Sharon, Sam and Kat went to the wine bar, where they found Phil – alive and well – at the entrance!
“This is my welcome home party?” he roared with a big smile on his face. The question is: how did he manage to secure his freedom?
Does this mean he took the deal from DI Keeble (Alison Newman)? What’s more, just Who was in the body bag that was removed from the cell?
