EastEnders star Jessica Plummer has been cast in a new British indie film.

The actress, known for her role as Chantelle Atkinswill star alongside Tamsin Egerton and Bebe Cave in the movie Tell That to the Winter Sea, according to Variety.

Tell That to the Winter Sea, written by Greta Bellamacina, follows the lives of Scarlet and Jo, former lovers who reunite at a mansion during Jo’s wedding.

At the mansion, other characters are introduced in a film that explores ‘the complexities of female friendship’ – directed by Emmy Award-winning Jaclyn Bethany.

The film will go into production in September.

Jessica’s character, Chantelle, died in 2020 when her abusive husband Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) shoved her in the dishwasher.

Last year she starred in the BBC One series The Girl Before.

Based on the book of the same name, it centers on a woman named Jane, who moves into an ultra-minimalist house, but must abide by the architect’s rules.

She later finds out that a girl named Emma [Jessica] previously lived in the property and endured a similar experience, leading to many questions about what went on behind closed doors.
