Emmerdale's bumbling Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is not known for his violent outbursts, but he is forced into this deviant behavior when Rhona Goskirk (Zoë Hendrik) once again makes a big decision without her husband's input.
Marlon and Rhona's relationship is already hanging by a thread, and she is well aware that her tendency to go behind Marlon's back is the reason.
Apparently she just can't help it.
Instead of listening to what her husband is trying to tell her, Rhona focuses on the fact that she has had enough is that Marlon keeps bringing up her past actions. Perhaps as a kind of trauma response, this leads her to put Marlon out of her mind for good.
When Karel (Kevin Mathurin) visit, Rhona spares no thought for her husband and his warnings as she begins planning a baptism for Ivy with the pastor. Everything goes well with the arrangements, until Marlon suddenly returns home in the middle of the discussion.
He is stunned when he hears that Rhona has big plans family decision without him being present.
Rhona feebly explains that it was Charles who raised the issue of a baptism, but this only enrages Marlon more – Rhona always has an excuse as to why she excluded him.
In an unusual move, a frustrated Marlon turns violent when he hits a pan of food and it goes flying, showing a side to him that no one has ever seen.
Then Rhona is hit with a punch more violent than the reverse perishables – she discovers Marlon is going camping with Paddy (Dominic Brunt) to decide if he still wants to be in a relationship.
