Emmerdale spoilers: Sandra is hiding a disturbing secret from Liv | soaps

Liv Flaherty‘s (Isobel Steele) mother, Sandra (Joanne Mitchell), is back in the village of Emmerdale and already causing trouble.

Last year, after the barn explosion, Liv struggled to cope with Paul’s death and fled the Dales.

With a bottle of alcohol in hand, Liv found her mother in a dingy caravan park and decided to stay there.

However, not realizing that Liv was addicted to booze, Sandra hit the bottle several times, putting Sandra’s life in danger.

In recent months, Liv’s life has become a lot happier.

She was released from prison, received help for her alcoholism and now we can safely say that she loves being married to Vinny (Bradley Johnson).

When it comes down to it, things get a little darker for Liv when she finds out Sandra owes £4k to a man named Terry.

Sandra pleads her case to Vinny and Liv; adamant Terry has taken advantage of her.

Liv allows Sandra to stay and blocks Terry’s number, but she wonders if her mother is lying about something else.

While Liv and Vinny wonder if Sandra can be trusted, Terry storms in and demands the money.

Liv has no choice but to save her mother and pay Terry herself, but is she right to be concerned?
