Speak with Dr David Bull on Talk TV, Mr Tice said Brussels would prefer the “globalist Sunak” to become prime minister. Former Brexit Party MEP reminded host David Bull that Liz Truss was responsible for the Northern Ireland Enabling Bill that passed through parliament.
The co-founder of the Exit.EU The campaign group added that if Ms Truss wanted to present “clear blue water” between her and Rishi Sunak, she could threaten to invoke Article 16 which overrides the predominant parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Mr Tice also pointed out that Ms Truss could tackle the “bully boys in Brussels”.
He said: “It feels like they’re putting a bit of a marker.
“They clearly prefer the globalist Sunak to be the next prime minister.
“I think they’re concerned that Liz Truss showed steel when she was Secretary of State.
“She was responsible for this new Northern Ireland Protocol Act which is being sent by Parliament.
“It’s worth remembering to David that this bill is what they call an Enabling Act.
“So it gives the government the right to do something, which doesn’t automatically mean it will do it.

“I think that would garner her tremendous support among traditional Tory membership, most of whom frankly are Brexiteers, most of whom are tired of the European Union’s behavior.”
“If she shows that she’s tough now, David, she could really give herself a huge extra advantage among the members.”
It comes as polling of Tory members by YouGov has shown that Ms Truss has a commanding lead with 62 percent support according to 38 percent for Mr Sunak.
It also showed that Tory supporters are more likely to think that Ms. Truss would be a good leader than Mr. Sunak.
