Earlier Arsenal Midfielder Matteo Guendouzi was involved in a fight during a friendly between Marseille and Real Betis.
The 23-year-old has made his stay at Marseille permanent after impressing on loan with the French club last season.
Guendouzi’s time at Arsenal was ended by Mikel Arteta after the midfielder was involved in a heated altercation with Brighton forward Neal Maupay in June 2020.
And it seems Guendouzi has not lost his fiery side as he was the center of a brawl during Marseille’s last friendly.
Arkadiusz Milik gave Marseille the lead in the 87th minute, but a header from Rodri three minutes later ensured that the game ended 1-1.
Immediately after Betis’ equalizer, Joaquin angrily confronted Guendouzi and pushed his head towards the France international.
Guendouzi held out, but Andres Guardado then fueled the altercation by tugging on the Marseille midfielder’s hair.
Both sets of players piled up to disperse the situation before the referee blew the full whistle.
After the match, Joaquin set up a dig at Guendouzi after he posed in a wig on Instagram, writing, “You make me hesitate to wear long hair.”
