Neculai Paizan, 64, was accused of repeatedly hitting Agnes Akom on the head with a power saw at his home in Brent, northwest London†
Paizan then put the 20-year-old’s body in a wheelie bin and moved it to a park to bury it in a pit under a pile of logs, the Old Bailey heard.
Ms Akom was reported missing on May 11 last year along with Paizan, who was originally from Romania. He was arrested on May 18 and charged with murder of Akom five days later.
The victim’s body had not been found for a month. Paizan has denied the murder.
Prosecutor Jacob Hallam QC said: “On Sunday 9 May 2021, she was killed in a converted shipping container standing next to a car dealership in Brent, north-west London.
“The body of Neculai Paizan was found buried in a pit, hidden under a pile of logs and branches, in a wooded part of a recreation area in Neasden.
“And it was found in that state on June 14 last year, so exactly a week before she should have turned 21.”
The last person she contacted on her phone was Paizan, and the last area where her phone was used was by the Lennox Autos car dealership next to the shipping container.

In the months before Ms. Akom’s murder, Paizan was seen several times by Lennox Autos staff with a woman who matched Ms. Akom’s description.

He drove her to his shipping container, which arrived just before noon. When he killed her, his action was caught on CCTV played by Mr Hallam in court.
