Gladiator icon Falcon has passed away at the age of 59.

The sad death of the TV star – real name Bernadette Hunt – came after a cancer conflict.

Hunt’s death was announced by Rick Jango in a Facebook group.

The post shared a tribute to the Gladiators favorite, reading: ‘It is with great sadness that I must tell you about my partner’s younger sister, Bernadette Hunt.

Most people will remember her as Falcon from the hit TV show Gladiators.

“I had the privilege of being in her company a few times and I must say she was one of the sweetest people I have ever met

“She never had a bad word to say about anyone, in fact, she was always known as the nicest gladiator who always stopped to speak for everyone and sign autographs.”

The announcement concluded, “She was battling cancer for several years until she sadly lost the battle RIP Bernie’.

In a commentary, it was confirmed that the star’s funeral would be private with only the family attending.

Hunt joined the popular ITV show for its second series in 1993 and remained a staple of the popular program until the series ended.

She was considered one of the most graceful gladiators among the viewers, as she often congratulated contenders whether they won or lost.

It took a strong Gladiator to take on her as she took on the Joust, Powerball and Tilt on her show.
