The champions fell to a 3-1 defeat to the Reds at King Power Stadium and were off the pace the entire time.

And his woes were compounded in stoppage time when he missed an eye-catching nanny.

The missus was met by sarcastic cheers from Liverpool fans, as an embarrassed Haaland walked away with a wry smile on his face.

And the deafening noise in the stadium was matched by the reaction of fans online – with many ridiculing the attacker.

“Nahhhh man how did Haaland miss out on here,” wrote WolfRMFC.

J.lingz was equally ruthless. “Haaland what a miss he wrote”, with a series of laughing emojis.

As various gifs and funny clips started to appear on Twitter, they mocked the usually deadly striker.

Haaland’s matte screen couldn’t have come at the worst of comparisons between him and Liverpool’s £85 Million Signing Darwin Nunez were made for the match.

The Uruguayan striker appeared as a substitute in the second half and immediately looked dangerous.

He completed his debut with a goal to cap off a promising run for his new club.
