TOTTENHAM fans have all reacted similarly after Bryan Gil left the club to return to Sevilla on loan.
The Spaniard, 21, arrived in North London from Seville in 2021 after that tracks paid £22 million and Erik Lamela in a swap deal.
But having played just 85 minutes in nine league games following his arrival at Tottenham, he returned to Spain on loan following a transfer to Valencia.
In the summer he returned to the Lilywhites and, after injuries rich carlison and Dejan Kulusevskygot a short run in the team after the World Cup break.
He started the games against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace earlier this month, assisting on a goal from Harry Kane at Selhurst Park.
But now he’s out on loan again, with Seville they were returned to the player they received £22 million and Lamela just 18 months ago.
And fans are well aware of the irony of him returning to the club he left not too long ago.
Commenting on social media, one person said: “So we sold Erik Lamela to Sevilla to help fund the signing of Bryan Gil… to now send Gil to Sevilla. Our recruiting team is top notch 🙄”.
Another added: “Great business! £22 million and Lamela in exchange for Gil and yet somehow Sevilla now have Gil. What an embarrassing club we are. We can’t even get the extra £2.5 million spend for Porro. Absolute mess”.
A third replied: “Why don’t we just give Sevilla Kane and Son for free? We gave them £22 million, Lamela and Gil for nothing 🤷♂️”.

And a fourth replied: “This shows how inept Levy and the board are. He has to go and our fans should demand it”.
In the 18 months since his arrival, Gil has not scored a goal in 31 appearances for Spurs, two of which he assisted.
He now returns to Sevilla, where he scored four times in 21 appearances.
The LaLiga side are struggling in 13th place in the Spanish top flight.
Meanwhile, Tottenham face a real battle to get back into the top four.
Antonio Conte‘s men are three points off the Champions League places.
They are still in both the FA Cup and Champions League – where they face AC Milan in the last 16.
