A person was killed Monday after his vehicle hit railroad tracks near State Highway 59 north of Wellington.
Police were called to the incident between Whitford Brown Ave and Paremata Rd, Porirua around 11:18pm.
The vehicle was found by police on its roof near railway tracks.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, a police spokesman said.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
Fire and Emergency NZ confirmed that three fire trucks responded at 11:24 PM but had left by 11:40 PM.
Train services on the Kāpiti line were suspended as a result of the crash, but resumed shortly after 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
