Helsea players were back at Cobham training ground on Saturday when the pre-season was underway.
People like Ben Chilwell, Ross Barkley, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Kepa Arrizabalaga were all seen at the club’s training base.
Both Chilwell and Hudson-Odoi stood on the sidelines for long periods of time and returned to practice early before the new campaign. The pair are expected to be separate from Thomas Tuchel’s first team squad this season, but others face a more uncertain future.
Many of the group will want to impress as the manager controls the rule over his players amid what is expected to be a busy transfer window.
Tuchel wants to reform his squad to tackle a serious Premier League title challenge, and the new owner, Todd Boehly, will support him up to £ 200 million.
Romelu Lukaku has already been shown through the door and is returning on loan to Inter Milan, and the club have drawn attention to signing Manchester City duo Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake. Juventus center-back Matthijs de Ligt is another important target behind.
Leeds have accepted a £ 60m bid for Raphinha, but the player would prefer to join Barcelona, who are struggling financially. Chelsea are also interested in taking Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer after the forward decided to leave Barca.
