William Gallas believes Tottenham could ‘get the big clubs in trouble’ this season, but thinks it will be another battle between them and Arsenal for fourth place in the upcoming Premier League campaign.
There is a lot of excitement around the Spurs going into the new season, having secured themselves Champions League football and with significant investment in the squad.
The will of Richarlison and Yves Bissouma have already arrived, more to come and Gallas believes that with Antonio Contea in the lead, Tottenham is a threat to everyone.
“I think they can get the big clubs in trouble,” Gallas told Metro.co.uk Genting Casino†
“They will cause problems because they will be very strong this season, especially with Antonio Conte’s mentality.”
Despite this, Gallas doesn’t really see Tottenham overhauling the three clubs that finished above them in the Premier League last season, in fact he’s not even sure Spurs can keep their place in the top four.
Asked about his tips for this season’s top four, the Frenchman said: ‘I don’t want to, but I have to… [Manchester] City because they look like they will be very strong.
‘So city, ChelseaLiverpool for sure. Then the same problem Arsenal or Tottenham, I don’t know.’
Presented with another possible team to challenge for the Champions League places, Gallas was clear:Manchester United† I don’t think so, no.’
