Google outs second beta for the first Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release

Back in early September, Google has released the first beta version for the upcoming Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release 1, also known as QPR1. And today, the company is following it up with the second beta. There should be a third in November, followed by the stable release in December.

Google says the second beta of Android 13 QPR1 will ship with the October 2022 security patches. The beta will only get these in a few days after the stable strain did.

The new build number is T1B2.220916.004 and comes with version 22.26.15 of Google Play Services. This release should contain bug fixes and improvements to stability and performance, although Google has no less vague changelog than this one.

Even if the usual warnings apply to installing non-final software builds, these QPR betas should be more stable than the initial Developer Previews for new versions of Android, as they are betas after all. There are also only three, followed by the correct release.

Android 13 QPR1 Beta 2 is available for the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Proand Pixel 6a. Enroll your eligible device to join the Android beta program on this websiteand you’ll then get this build as a software update, as well as the subsequent beta and final release.
