Yesterday Google finally released the Pixel 9 family officially, after months of leaks. And now, the Pixel 9 Pro XL was put through the usual 'durability test' by Zack from the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL comes in a new box-style design and also has a new design, with flat sides and a massive 3.5mm thick camera bump. The phone’s display has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top, which is evident because it scratches at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, with grooves becoming deeper starting at level 7.
The frame is of course metal, with plastic cutouts here and there for antennas. The camera bump is metal on the edges and right side, and glass above the cameras themselves of course.

The screen can withstand the heat of a lighter for 30 seconds without damage, which is not something we see very often. Finally, the bend test. The Pixel 9 Pro XL survives being bent on both sides without any problems, thus passing the durability test with flying colors.
