Augustine Umahi, the younger brother of Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, has turned down his appointment as secretary of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Augustine declined the nomination just after President Buhari approved the nomination along with two others on Wednesday, July 27.
Mr. Umahi has been appointed Secretary of RMAFC for an initial term of four years effective July 6.
His decision to reject the nomination in a statement on Thursday, July 28, Augustine said;
“I am truly humbled by this token of love, but I am sorry to inform you that I have declined the nomination.
“This is because it is best for job seekers, retired civil servants or anyone who loves the job.
“I am also convinced that at my age and work experience I definitely know what I want in life.
“Anyone interested in the position should not hesitate to approach our tireless governor to take the necessary steps. This is because, to my knowledge, the position is still vacant.”
