Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been attacked by gunmen in Igboze North Local Government Area of ​​Enugu State.

INEC Chair, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, who confirmed the attack on Thursday, July 14, said election officials were involved in continuous voter registration (CVR) before gunmen stormed Umuopu Community Primary School in Umuozzi Ward 19 in the south. -Eastern state.

After the administrative secretary in Enugu state, Jude Okwuonu reported the incident to INEC headquarters, the commission decided to suspend the continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise in the affected area.
