Hallmark actress Mamie Laverock is fighting for her life after falling from a fifth-floor balcony.
The 19-year-old, best known for her roles in When The Heart Calls and This Means War, was initially taken to hospital with a medical emergency, with her mother Nicole by her side.
While she was being treated in Vancouver, her loved ones revealed that she was “escorted from a secure unit” and taken to a balcony hallway on Sunday, where she “fell five stories.”
They had one set up GoFundMe page to help with her care earlier this month – with over $12,000 CAD raised as of this writing.
In a heartbreaking update, her family have since explained that the teenager is currently on a ventilator following an incident last weekend.
“On Saturday, May 11, Nicole traveled to Winnipeg to assist Mamie, who had a medical emergency,” the post began. 'Nicole was able to get there in time to save her life. They then took her to a hospital in Winnipeg.
“Mamie has now been transferred to the hospital here in Vancouver. Her recovery is unclear at this time, but she is alive and showing signs of improvement.
“We try to go every day to support her. Any contribution would help us stand by her side. But this may take a month or more.
“We will share any updates we can. Thank you for all your well wishes.'
In a recent update, they added: 'We are deeply saddened to report that Mamie, who has been undergoing intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted from a secure unit of the hospital on May 26 and taken to a balcony. walkway from which she fell five stories.
“She suffered life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries and is currently on life support.
“We are all devastated and shocked at this deeply difficult time.”
