Tamara Korpatsch called her doubles partner Harmony Tan ‘unprofessional’ in a furious outburst after the latter withdrew from the doubles after her shock victory over Serena Williams at Wimbledon.

World No. 115 and Wimbledon debutant Tan stunned the tennis world on Tuesday night with a remarkable 7-5 1-6 7-6 victory over 23-time major champion Williams.

However, not everyone praised Tan after her result, with Korpatsch upset about her late withdrawal from their scheduled first-round doubles match on Wednesday against Raluca Olaru and Nadiia Kichenok, with the French player suffering a thigh injury.

“Unfortunately, my doubles partner Harmony Tan tried out of our doubles again today,” Korpatsch said. “She just texted me this morning.

‘Let me wait here an hour before the game starts. I’m very sad, disappointed and also very angry that I can not play my first doubles Grand Slam.

“It really is not fair to me. I did not deserve it. She asked me before the tournament if we wanted to play doubles and I said yes, I did not ask her, she asked me.

‘If you’ve broken after a three-hour game the day before, you can not play professionally. That’s my opinion. ‘

So paid tribute to ‘superstar’ Williams after beating one of her youth heroes out of Wimbledon on Tuesday.

“I’m so emotional right now. [Serena] is a superstar and when I was young, I watched her so many times on TV, ‘she said after the game.

‘For my first Wimbledon, it’s wow. Not wow. When I saw the draw, I was very scared.

‘I would like to thank everyone and my team and my coach Natalie Tauziat, who also played with Serena. Thank you for being with me. ‘
