A hero father of three stopped a woman stripping down to her underwear and running naked through a Manchester-bound plane before attempting twice to storm the cockpit while shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’.

Phillip O’Brien, 35, was a passenger on the Jet2 flight from Lanarca, Cyprus to Manchester on Tuesday, August 9, when a woman in her thirties caused the panic shortly after takeoff.

The woman appeared to suggest she was carrying explosives and also asked the children she was with if they were “ready to die.”

She also told terrified passengers and staff that her parents were members of a terror group ISIS.

Mr O’Brien, the boss of a drainage company, was on board with six of his relatives, including his wife and three children, ages eight to fourteen.

He said everyone was “gobbling themselves,” but as he watched the scene unfold, he asked the staff why no one put her on the floor before throwing himself forward to help.

The 35-year-old, who worked in security as a teenager, told The Mirror: “So when the woman went back to the cockpit, I took control, took her to the ground and at that point the pilot made an emergency landing to Paris. .

Mr O’Brien said he asked the woman why she said such things and he claimed she replied, ‘If I didn’t, there would be an explosion and everyone would die.’

The publication reports that the flight was diverted to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport early Tuesday morning so that a ‘disrupting passenger’ could be ‘unloaded’.
