Horrifying moment when young boy gets kicked after being seriously injured while riding a pirate ship from Gulliver’s World as onlookers scream in terror
- The boy climbed the fence to play under the ride in the Warrington theme park
- A Manchester parent who watched said: ‘It could have been a lot worse’
- Warrington theme park had to close Gulliver’s World ride after the event
A horrifying video shows the moment a little boy was nearly swept away by a boat trip after climbing into the restricted zone below.
Monday around 3pm, the boy chose to climb over the fence to play in the area below the attraction in Warrington.
Gulliver’s World said staff responded “quickly” and followed proper procedures in reporting the incident.

The young boy climbed the fence to climb on the cannons, oblivious to the perilous ride swinging above him

He was eventually grabbed by an adult and taken to safety
Those watching in shock can hear “there’s a child” yell before it screams in panic as the child moves closer to the swinging pirate ship in Gulliver’s World.
The screaming continues until a man waiting in line jumps in to get the boy to safety.
The little boy climbed over a fence to sit on one of the wooden cannons, then stood up under the gigantic rocking boat filled with riders.
As the ride swings back down, it recoils just a tiny bit before a man grabs it.
Father Andy Moore, from Manchester, was one of those waiting in line with his child when he saw the boy playing in the gated area.
Moore told the Manchester Evening News that the ride was closed for a while after the incident.

The boy continued to play the ride while ‘the child’s parent was nowhere to be seen at first’

The young boy seemed oblivious to the impending danger he was in

His head was terrifyingly close to the grueling pirate ship ride
“I was standing in line with my young child and we were taking pictures of every ride we took when this kid climbed the gate and ran to the ride,” Andy said.
“He played on the guns for a while while the pirate ship was in full swing. The staff member hadn’t seen it at first, but the waiting crowd had.
“The child’s parent was nowhere to be seen at first. Then the staff member saw what everyone was yelling at and the ride stopped.
“The child came very close and didn’t seem to realize the danger. An audience member on the other side jumped over the fence to grab the child. I couldn’t because I didn’t want to leave my young child alone.’

The boy seemed to be happily playing on the wooden cannons placed next to the moving ride
He added: ‘Luckily there were no injuries. But clearly a problem when a young child of that age can easily climb over the fence and enter the riding area. It could have been much worse.’
Craig Clewes, Resort Director at Gulliver’s World, said: ‘We are aware of an incident at one of the Gulliver’s World attractions. Our employees responded quickly and followed our safety and reporting procedures.
‘The safety of our customers and employees remains our number one priority.’
