UFC star Brian Ortega suffered a horrific shoulder dislocation to give Yair Rodriguez the win in New York on Saturday.
The 31-year-old gave his featherweight rival the win towards the end of the first round after his shoulder dislocated.
After struggling with Rodriguez where he was above the Mexican, Ortega wanted to wriggle out of an arm bar.
He managed to do that, but instead of going ahead with an attack on El Pantera, he immediately fell on his back.
The fight was quickly brought to an abrupt end, much to the disappointment of not only the two fighters but also the commentators.
Seeing Ortega collapse onto the canvas, Cormier blurted out immediately, “His shoulder popped out.”
Paul Felder was very disappointed by the untimely ending, saying, “Oh no.”
Jon Anik then stated, “About this anti-climax a main event could end. Brian Ortega’s shoulder seems to have popped out.”
After determining the timing of the replay, Cormier commented, “Watch him pull out of the arm brace. Oh, you see, there it is! You can see the shoulder out.”
It was a sad end to the match, with both men taking huge blows.

Ortega confirmed the dislocation after the fight, stating that he may now require a third shoulder surgery.
He said: “I’m so f****** sorry. I don’t know how this happened. I wanted to keep going, this thing came out.
“I’ve already had two shoulder surgeries. Who knows, I may need a third.
“We got stuck in a situation and his body was tight and I don’t know, it just jerked. I was not in danger of submission. I tried to free the leg and my arm just popped out.
“Yair, congratulations – if you don’t get the title fight, or whatever happens, let’s get this right.
“I want us both to leave it here. Because I know that’s what we came for.’
Rodriguez could now be lining up for a shot at Alexander Volkanovski’s featherweight title later in the year.
The 29-year-old has stated that he is willing to play a rematch with Ortega but would rather go for a world title.
He commented: “It’s a shame he dislocated his shoulder or whatever. I already told him we can turn it back any minute.
“We can do this, but I’d rather do it for a championship instead of being in a situation like this. It’s a shame.”
