Toxicity exists in every corner of the social media system and YouTube can be one of the most concentrated hubs for it. If you post a video that you worked hard on and someone starts scolding you in the comments section, it can be quite damaging. Their comments may prompt others to “dislike” your video, or it may upset you and prompt you to post an unusually negative response. In cases like this, it’s usually a good idea to block that user. Here’s how to do that.

How to block a channel on YouTube
What does blocking someone on YouTube do?
Let’s get this out of the way first: blocking another channel on YouTube doesn’t mean you’re blocking all their content if you continue to use YouTube. There is no way to do this; as long as you use YouTube, you can always see another channel’s publicly published videos.
If you block a channel on YouTube, they can no longer comment on your videos. They can still see, like or dislike your videos, and comment on other comments in the comments section with a thumbs up or down.
In addition, they still see the Add a comment… field and can click REMARK. However, the total number of comments will not increase as they add new comments. Other than the blocked poster, no one will be able to see their comment in the comments section of your video.

How to prevent a YouTube channel from appearing
If you don’t want to stop someone’s channel from commenting on your videos, you probably just want to stop watching their videos. Unfortunately, you always have access to their channel and their account’s videos.
However, what you can do is prevent their videos from appearing on your YouTube homepage’s “recommendations”. Here’s how to do that.
desktop
In your browser, click on the house-shaped House on the left side of the YouTube interface, or just go to www.youtube.com in your address bar.
Click on the next to the video title of the channel you want to block. To make this appear, hover your mouse over the title of the video.
