How to get a free ‘bed’ on a long-haul flight, even in economy

SLEEPING on a flight can be very difficult, especially for anyone trying to catch forty winks in an upright airplane seat.

A travel expert, who’s logged thousands of air miles, has revealed the best way to get a free bed on long-haul trips, and the trick works for economy passengers at.

Frequent flyer and travel journalist Brook Sabin explained how to squeeze a bed space during plane travel.

He continued Stuff: “The best sleeps I’ve ever had are in economy, where I found three empty seats together.”

If a vacationer has three seats to himself, Sabin recommends folding the armrests up to create the seats make a bed.

While this may not sound very comfortable, it is definitely better than sitting for the entire flight.

This may sound simple, but for that you compete against every other passenger prized chairs.

Fortunately, Brook has a solution – be the last to board the plane and watch the empty rows as you walk through the booth to take a seat.

He said, “Work out your narrower options, then backup option.”

“As fast as the seat belt sign is out, you must jump up and make your way to the empty rows.”

But be warned, you’ll need to be quick to get these seats as the competition will be fierce.

If you don’t want to stick your elbows out, Brook also suggests booking the middle seat in an empty row – you could end up between two strangers, or you could have a few seats to yourself.

You can also try it to an employee of the Check in against, but make sure you are polite.

An ex-Emirates flight attendant, Bella Sapsworth, explained how catch forty winks on long-haul flights.

She told the Subway: “Adjust your seat. You pay for an adjustable seat – so use it!”
