There is something to be said for a song you like so much that you could listen to it again. Spotify is home to an immense amount of music, and when you find a song that just clicks with you in a certain time and space, sometimes you just can’t help but put it on repeat. If you know how, that is. Let’s discuss how to repeat a song on Spotify.

THE SHORT ANSWER
To repeat a song on Spotify mobile, you need to be a member of Spotify Premium. Find the to repeat button in your media controls while playing a song in full screen. If this button is white, tap it twice so it turns green with a “1” symbol at the top.
Media controls such as shuffle and repeat are only available in ‘shuffle-free playlists’. If you’re using Spotify Free, you’re forced to use the entire ad platform, and always in shuffle mode. As such, there is no way to manually enable shuffle or repeat. You also cannot add songs to your queue if you are using the free version.
Spotify Premium has a full suite of media controls available when you open your song or podcast in full screen. Spotify Free, on the other hand, has almost no options in the media control bar and the repeat button is missing.
As things stand, Spotify doesn’t allow users to put podcasts on repeat.

Tap the button again. A small ‘1’ will appear on top of the green rotating arrow; that’s how you know you’ve put your song on repeat on Spotify.

Oddly enough, you don’t need to be a Premium member to loop songs on the Spotify desktop app.
Open the Spotify desktop app or web player. Find the song you want to repeat and start playing it. It should be visible with all media controls in the bottom playback bar.

Normal repeat, which means that the repeat button is green and does not have a ‘1’ over it, means that the button has been pressed once. In this case, songs will not repeat themselves when you play an album or playlist. Instead, your song advances to the next song in the list until the end is reached. After this, the whole album or playlist is repeated.
