How to see items sold on eBay to set the correct price?

Depending on your item, the value can change drastically over time. So if you’re not sure how much to ask or how much to pay for something on eBay, you can view completed listings to estimate a reasonable price. Here’s how to view items sold on eBay.

View sold items on the eBay website

Advanced search is the easiest way to see how items have sold in the past. You can get there by clicking Advanced next to the big blue search button on the homepage.

On the next page, type your article keywords. This could be the title or model number of what you want to sell or buy. You can also choose a relevant category to narrow your search.

Check the box next to it Completed lists. You could select: Sold offers, but you’ll only see items sold to a buyer on eBay, while completed listings will show you all past listings, whether they’ve been sold or not. We recommend the latter, as seeing items that didn’t sell because they were overpriced can help determine an optimal selling price.

If you plan to ship internationally, you may want to change the location to: Worldwide. Placing your item in front of more buyers will increase your to make money possibilities.

Click To search at the bottom of the page to see the results. You can view All or alone Auction or Buy it now stylized offers from top left or Kind the results by date, price or distance via the drop-down menu at the top right.

Understanding Sold Items

Below each eBay listing, you’ll see the price it sold for in green (the price of unsold items is grayed out). If it was an auction-style listing, you’d be able to see how many bids were placed below the final price. You will also find the date and location of the item if the information is available.

To see what similar items are currently selling for, click View similar active items. The price of an item can fluctuate over time as demand and availability change. For example, did you know that a OnePlus 9 prototype sold for $6,000 on Ebay?

View sold items in the eBay app

The process is relatively similar to the eBay site, although the app’s advanced search options are different. Search for an item as you normally would using the search bar and tap Filter top right.

Then scroll down and tap Show more.

Scroll down a bit until you see Sold items. If you enable that, you can also Completed Items. Finally tap Show results at the bottom of the screen.

You will then see a list of items sold on eBay related to your search. The prices in green indicate the final selling price, including other relevant information.
