Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confidentially filed a counterclaim against Twitter after the company sued him for ending a deal to buy the platform for $44 billion. While Musk has kept quiet on social media about Twitter’s lawsuit, for reasons unknown, he chose to keep the details of his counterclaim confidential.
The hill reports Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confidentially filed a counterclaim against Twitter after the company filed a lawsuit against the billionaire over his termination of a deal to buy the social media platform for $44 billion. The counterparty has not been made public.
The Wall Street Journal quoted persons close to the case who stated that Musk is expected to counter claim that the number of daily active users who can monetize was changed by Twitter before the deal went through.
The WSJ further reported that Musk likely alleges that Twitter did not respond when he inquired about spam number data that the team claimed was not adequately answered by Twitter. Musk’s counsel argued that Twitter violated their agreement on a number of counts, including that the social media company fired two executives and therefore violated the purchase agreements.
Musk’s counsel argues that Twitter also violated the agreements by providing insufficient information about bots on Twitter and that the company incorrectly stated the number of bots on the platform.
Just days after Musk terminated the purchase agreement, Twitter filed a lawsuit against the billionaire, claiming in the lawsuit, “These claims are pretexts and devoid of any merit. Musk, on the other hand, has been trading against this deal since the market started spinning and has closed the merger agreement.” repeatedly violated.
