EVER felt to find yourself fitting into a size 10 store in a store only to find you can’t zip up the same size anywhere else?
We have good news: you don’t imagine things and your body doesn’t change sizes between stores.
One TikTok user even proved that all of our favorite high street and online retailers are slightly different sizes.
Sophie Shakeshaft modeled all of her size 12 pants in one video, proving that we shouldn’t look for confirmation in dress sizes.
In the clip, Sophie fits pants from Topshop, ASOS, Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo, all size 12 and fitting her body in completely different ways.
First, she’s wearing lilac joggers from ASOS Tall, which fit like a glove.
But the following photos show Sophie in Boohoo jeans and Topshop leather pants, both in size 12, one way too big and the other too small.
The Pretty Little Thing pants, size 12, go well with the tall blonde, while the ASOS mom jeans fall generously at the waist.
Sophie concludes the video by telling viewers, “Note that my body has not changed size once during this video!
“Don’t value your dress size babygirl.”
The 21-year-old’s video has received a torrent of online support, with over 39,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
One viewer commented, “It made me feel so much better, thank you so much for making this.”
A second said, “I needed this. I’m going to start buying the size that best fits that garment. Normally I’d be paranoid if my usual size didn’t fit me.”
Sophie replied to the comment and said: Yes to this! Comfort is key – no one can see the label and the label doesn’t matter!”
Someone else chimed in: “I HATE shopping for jeans. It’s so stressful and makes me so sad. I literally have one pair of jeans.”
And another commented: “This changes everything, I have to start ordering multiple sizes for the perfect fit, instead of paying for ‘my size’ to fit.”
