FROM taking parcels from people to the occasional cat sitting, we generally consider ourselves pretty reasonable neighbors.
But steal the parking lot in front of our house and we’ll go from friendly to fiery in two seconds.
And it turns out we’re not exactly alone in this.
Earlier this week, residents of a northern Sydney suburb gathered to shout their neighbors’ “selfish” parking lot. News.Au reports.
The anonymous resident – who has a double garage – has parked his trailer at the end of their driveway to prevent other people from leaving their cars there.
An enraged neighbor, criticizing their behavior, put a savage note on the back of their car letting them know how it affected people on the street.
Labeled “inconsiderate,” the note read: “You have a double garage plus an empty parking space.
“This is a public road with a shortage of parking spaces. If everyone did the same, there would be no place to park.”
After seeing the note, another neighbor printed out their own reply.
“ACCEPT,” it read. “You try to drive around looking for a parking spot after a long day of work.”
In addition, this encouraged a third resident to respond, “It would be great if we all work together as neighbors to make it easier for everyone to park close to home.”
However, not everyone was so involved with the matter – with a fourth reply with their own note that read, “Just here for the drama!”
