President Buhari congratulated Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in Saturday’s July 16 poll.
Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor and APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, in the election.
In a statement released this morning, President Buhari said Adeleke’s victory shows what democracy is all about. He stated that he is determined to leave a legacy of credible elections in Nigeria.
The president’s statement reads:
“I congratulate Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on his victory in the Osun governor elections. The people of Osun have expressed their will through the vote.
