LOVE Island star Olivia Attwood has revealed the REAL reason producers are banning islanders from drinking more than two alcoholic drinks a night.
Speaking on popular podcast Call Her Daddy, the star of the third season of the ITV2 hit lifted the lid on the secrets behind the scenes.
Olivia31, told host Alexandra Cooper there’s a legit reason why bosses ban too much alcohol – and it’s not because they don’t want fights to break out.
Olivia revealed: “The reason is that the show is about dating and about love.
“They don’t want people doing things that are driven by alcohol and waking up the next day and thinking, ‘Oh, I really don’t like him, the reason I kiss him is because I was drunk.’
“It’s not that kind of show,” she continued. “It wouldn’t make sense — they want people to kiss and be in bed together because they want to, not because they’re drunk.”
Olivia went on to reveal that she almost got a written warning from producers for struggling to get the very strict rules around alcohol.
She said: “I questioned them about it every day to the point where they said, ‘If you ask again, you’ll get a written warning.’ I was told that at the beach hut because I argued about it every day.”
Looking back, Olivia thinks it’s a good job that her cast was limited with their wine intake, because “we were all crazy.”
Olivia was known for her fiery temper on the show and her rocky relationship with Chris Hugheswho is he split off from seven months after the series.
Referring to the infamous night she got into a huge fight with Montana Brown at the villa, Olivia insisted that she be completely sober.
She recalled: “I hadn’t even had a drink yet and then I went out and the producer said, ‘You’re not getting anything tonight!’ I was like, ‘Oh you’re kidding!’
“I swear I was sober, can you imagine we were drunk? It would be like a fight club.”
Olivia has become one of the show’s most successful stars following her stint in its 2018 run.
She has starred in many other reality shows, including: The only way in Essex and The games†
She is engaged to soccer player fiance Bradley Dack and the couple live together in Cheshire.
