A TRAVELODGE employee has labeled cluttered hotel guests “animals” after revealing the condition of a cluttered room.
Syma H, who claims to be an employee at the catering company, posted images of the filthy room on TikTok.
She captioned the video: “What I see as a Travelodge employee. When you leave your room like this, you’re an animal.”
The clip shows the room littered with rubbish and rubbish, including cigarette cases, wrappers and empty bottles.
The bathroom is no better where there is visible dirt in the sink and a toilet that does not appear to have been flushed.
The video, which has since garnered more than 27,000 likes, received a lot of comments from shocked users online.
Many seemed to agree with the scathing assessment of the employee’s guests.
One user said: “I don’t understand how people are brought up like this. I always leave the hotels as if I wasn’t even there, except I was piling up the bedding.”
A second wrote, “And here I’m wondering if I should fold the used towels or just leave them in the bathtub.”
A third commented, “I always try to leave my room like I haven’t even been in it!”
While a fourth added: “I hope they are charged a cleaning fee as that is not reasonable.”
However, others suggested that it was not the employee’s place to expose the condition of the room – arguing that this should have been handled privately by the hotel.
One user said, “People should put down a deposit to cover this sort of thing.”
While a second commented, “The hotel has their card details to charge them for a deep clean.”
travelodge released thousands of rooms at their lowest price in the UK last month in a bid to bring in gamblers.
The hotel giant has double rooms from £32, meaning couples can grab a cheap staycation this year.
