FOR less than $1,000, a TikToker helped plan her friend’s special wedding day at a dollar store price tag.
In a 36-second TikTok video, a user shared how she helped plan her best friend’s wedding, with the help and support of friends, family, and the local Walmart and Dollar Tree.
Eager to share the love in one tick tock video caption “Community is key. I love to plan events, honey, I’ve got you back!”, user Imani Harris reveals the secrets of fiscally responsible marital success.
The video opens with a subtitle asking, “Want to marry the love of your life but not go into debt?”
The question sets the tone for the rest of the video, as Harris dives right into the first secret of her friend’s big day.
“How to get married for under $1,000…now you let Imani help you and most importantly use what you have,” Harris says.
Within the first ten seconds of the video, Harris says the most important tip when planning a wedding is to use what you have.
“We have a church. Let’s clean it up. Let’s put everything we bought in it,” Harris says.
Harris goes on to list all the stores she’s bought products from, including Walmart, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Party City.
“Very dollar arc from Party City. Let’s decorate it, honey, how you want it. Hobby Lobby…everything you got, we want it. Dollar Tree…all the flowers you got, we want it,” exclaims Harris.
Harris also makes a point to mention that you don’t have to break the bank to find the perfect wedding dress.
“That dress… we go to every clothing store we find until we find the dress that’s perfect for you and it won’t cost you all of your money,” she adds.
Near the end of the video, Harris repeats captioning captions: “USE WHAT YOU HAVE!” before delving into additional ways to cut costs at a wedding.
For Harris, the use of intercourse is one of the most important aspects of putting together a loved one’s marriage.
If there are friends who are good with a camera, Harris suggests having the wedding photos taken.
For anyone who likes to plan events, she also suggests letting that friend plan the wedding. If there are two friends who love to plan a party, why not let them both join in the fun.
As a way to save a few bucks too, Harris emphasizes the value of having a friend or family member bake the wedding cake.
The comment section of the TikTok video was overflowing with support for the wedding celebration.
“People thought I was crazy when I said I was getting married with no more than $1000!! I knew it was possible,” commented one viewer.
“Boosting bc i love this and everyone should see this!!” exclaimed another.
“That’s smart and beautiful. It doesn’t cost that much to have. A beautiful wedding,” added one viewer.
One viewer even comically asked for advice.
“Please help me because these awards tell me to run to the courthouse ASAP,” they insisted.

Harris’ feel-good approach to life transcends all of TikTok, as she shows off her boyfriend’s smiling faces on her wedding day and happy videos of loved ones at the event.
“Honey, we win life even if we have less than $1,000. Let me help you,” Harris says as she closes the video.
