But as essential as they are, accessories can also be tricky to style, sometimes leaving you looking rather confused and with mismatched items that don’t complement each other.
Luckily, a fashion lover has lent a helping hand and shared a few tips and tricks that will keep you looking your best for all occasions.
In the now viral clip on YouTube, Erin Elizabeth, whose lifestyle videos have earned her a remarkable fan base of nearly 250,000 subscribers, demonstrated how you can easily spice up your outfit with accessories.
“When you get ready in the morning, accessories should be the last thing you pick up for your outfit.
“You need to have the base of your outfit ready and ready to go, and then the very last thing you’re going to do is get all your accessories together.”
This, she explained, is because you want accessories to “enhance your look instead of competing with it.”
Erin then showed how to make the most of your outfit for the day by wearing jeans and a simple white blouse, which she had tucked in.
To add something small, the whiz kid opted for a brown belt, a watch, a delicate necklace in gold, and a colorful scarf wrapped around her messy ponytail.
Another easy trick is to roll up your sleeves – this is something that makes the look more casual and relaxed – and choose a bright pair of shoes for a pop of color.
The second outfit — a flowy white cami with pretty printed shorts — was more semi-casual.

Since the shorts with the bow details were already a statement in itself, Erin decided to keep it simple and opt for a larger chain.
Here you can also go for studs – but not too crazy, that would distract the attention from the necklace.
For shoes, Erin went for a pair of blue-grey heeled sandals and completed the look with a round white straw bag.
Last but not least, the YouTube fashion guru showed you how to make your evening or evening outfit look even better – and one option here, especially for dresses with a higher neckline, is to choose statement earrings.
For those who love Erin and don’t have a lot of color in their wardrobe, a bright lipstick is another way to add a pop of color.
“Make it a little imaginative, give it that daring,” she said, showing her red lips.
