TO achieve sleek and straight hair, people don’t have to think long about reaching for the hair straightener.
But have you ever considered the damage ordinary heat can do to your locks?
From split ends to frizzy and lifeless, it’s important to give your hair a break to keep it looking and feeling healthy.
And luckily, hairstylist Maria Aiello, who posts under the acronym @mariaaiellohair, took to TikTok and revealed how people can get healthy hair, while still looking straight.
And maybe the best part?
The clever hack involves a common kitchen product you probably already have in your kitchen cabinets – parchment paper.
In the short clip, she explains, “Want to straighten hair without the damage? Try patch paper.”
“It protects your hair from heat damage.”

She can be seen grabbing a roll of parchment paper which can be bought in supermarkets for just £1.
Maria then folds a sheet of paper in half and stuffs her hair into it, before sliding her heated straighteners along it.
The clip has since racked up an impressive 947,000 views and has been inundated with glowing comments, with many thanking the hair pro for sharing her top tip.
“Whaaaaaaaaaaat???? I’m trying this,” enthused.
A second said: “Omg! Why didn’t I think of this!”
A third wrote: “Omg so smart thanks love.”
Meanwhile, a fourth added, “Waaw, I’ll definitely try it.”
Another praised: “Omg thank you :).”
One further wrote: “I’m so trying that tomorrow.”
And another added, “I just finished styling my hair and saw this.”
