I’m flogging the cheapest fuel in the UK to help Brits during the cost of living crisis… it’s the least I can do

A selfless gas station owner has shared how he is thrashing the cheapest fuel in Britain to help those struggling during the cost of living crisis.

Hassan Mohammed lowered its prices by almost 20 pence per litre for its customers on Thursday.

They can now drink unleaded for just 169.9 pp litre, while diesel will be available for 185.9 pence – a huge drop from the previous 187.9p and 194.9p respectively.

It means motorists flocking to The Limes Service Station in Salford, Manchester have been saved average prices of 191.2p for petrol and 199.1p for diesel.

The co-director said: Manchester Evening News: “People’s disposable income is widely affected and we know that gasoline is one of the biggest costs for people.

“It’s not a gimmick, we want to help people save some money.”

Hassan was able to cut prices at the Texaco franchise after selflessly putting his own savings back into the company.

The franchise encouraged him to give the price-cutting ploy a try and it sparked a frenzy of cars rushing to his station.

He explained how his firm is doing everything it can to keep up with the generous offer for a minimum of seven days.

But fears of fluctuating prices could mean that the Bargain Square, on Manchester Road, in Walkden, may need to adjust prices a bit.

Nevertheless, Hassan, from Bolton, has vowed to hold out as long as possible.

He added: “We have been here for seven years now and we have always tried to support our community.”

But Hassan has a challenger like a Shell garage in rural Devon now offers petrol for 164.9 per litre.

The gas station in the Trago Mills department store in Newton Abbot also sells diesel for 179.9 pence.

‘FALLING PRICES

It comes like the UK’s rising fuel prices should have fallen by 4p last monthhas revealed the AA.

In a blow to millions of drivers, the Motorists’ Association said greedy fuel retailers have made a profit, despite the country facing a crippling cost of living crisis.

Luke Bosdet, the AA’s spokesperson for fuel prices, said: The Telegraph: “Even fuel trade commentators say their pump prices should fall by 4p in the coming days.”

Britons have already exploded in anger at skyrocketing prices at the pump – taking to the road to slow traffic as they demanded a cut in fuel taxes.

Fuel Price Stand Against Tax brought the country’s roads to a halt on July 4, as protesters plodded along at just 8 miles per hour in places — leading to 12-hour monster traffic jams.

It comes as a series of hopeful Tory leaders pledged to lower the unpopular fuel tax when they become prime minister.
